Awana SkyWay route guide

Genting Cable Car Stations

Awana SkyWay has three stations: Sky Sentral at mid-hill, Chin Swee Station and Genting Highlands Station at SkyAvenue. Here is where each station is and how to use the route.

Awana SkyWay route at a glance

1. Sky Sentral

Main lower station beside Genting Highlands Premium Outlets. This is where most visitors arriving by car or express bus start.

2. Chin Swee Station

Intermediate stop for Chin Swee Caves Temple. The stopover is included with the same Awana SkyWay ticket.

3. Genting Highlands Station / SkyAvenue

Upper station at the main Resorts World Genting area, with direct access into SkyAvenue.

Sky Sentral: the main lower boarding station

Sky Sentral is at mid-hill, adjacent to Genting Highlands Premium Outlets (GPO). For visitors driving from Kuala Lumpur, the operator specifically promotes parking at GPO and riding Awana SkyWay from here. Express buses also terminate at Sky Sentral.

The transport complex places the bus terminal on Level 1 and Awana SkyWay on Level 4. The building is connected to GPO by two link bridges, so you can move between the outlet mall and the cable-car/transport hub without needing another vehicle.

Useful facilities at Sky Sentral

The complex has food and retail outlets as well as an information counter, baby-changing rooms, breastfeeding rooms, a prayer room, baggage storage and a taxi counter. This makes Sky Sentral useful for waiting, eating or storing luggage before travelling to the peak.

Chin Swee Station: the free intermediate stop

Chin Swee Station sits between Sky Sentral and the peak. You can disembark here to visit Chin Swee Caves Temple and then continue your journey using the same valid Awana SkyWay ticket. There is no extra cable-car fare for the stopover.

The important practical point is to keep your ticket or QR code after leaving the gondola. You will need it to continue either towards Genting Highlands or back towards Sky Sentral.

If you want to visit Chin Swee, allow more than the nominal 10-minute cable-car travel time. The 10 minutes refers to a direct end-to-end ride; sightseeing at the intermediate station is additional.

Genting Highlands Station: the upper station

The upper Awana SkyWay station is at the Genting Highlands/SkyAvenue end of the route. From here you enter the main resort area rather than needing another road transfer. This is the station most day visitors use to access attractions, hotels, dining and entertainment at the peak.

For the return trip, follow signs back to the cable-car station at SkyAvenue and make sure you descend on the route that returns you to the correct lower transport area.

Do not confuse Awana SkyWay with Genting SkyWay

Genting has a second cable-car line. Genting SkyWay runs between Gohtong Sentral and the peak and is approximately 3.4 km long with a journey of around 15 minutes. Its lower station is not Sky Sentral. If you park or take a bus to a particular lower terminal, make sure your return ride brings you back to the correct one.
